CARRS-Q Fleet Safety Seminar - Managing Your Work Related Road Safety: Challenges and Issues Facing Today's Employers. CARRS-Q annouces the final seminar for 2009 relating to work related road safety, to be held Thursday 15 October 2009 at Hillsone St St Lucia Golf Club, Brisbane. Extending on the success of the 2008 Seminar Series, during this seminar CARRS-Q will be expanding on the topic of challenges to work-related road safety, and introducing new sessions focusing on fatigue, heavy vehicles, the use of technology in monitoring Fleet Safety, Industry Insight, real-life case studies and the challenges legal proceedings can bring to an organisation and its employers. The workshop aims to: The Seminar will feature speakes from CARRS-Q as well as from industry, and include interactive discussion periods. In conjunction with the United Nations Global Road Safety Week the Queensland Chapter hosted a breakfast forum at Parliament House on Monday 23 April 2007.
The event was held in partnership with the Queensland Parliamentary Travelsafe Committee and focussed on the UN Week's theme of young road users. The forum feature presentations from:

Dr Murray's presentation was titled Occupational road safety: Best practice from around the globe[click to download a copy ]. He spoke about how occupational road safety (ORS) has grown in importance as the extent of the problem has emerged, and an increasing numbers of researchers, practitioners and government agencies have seen its potential for protecting human and financial resources. In this session, Dr Will Murray focused on the outcomes from research and best practice case study organisations from around the world, particularly emphasising why ORS is important, how it can be improved and program evaluation.
